Peter Baumgartner, Danube University Krems, Austria

Peter Baumgartner Peter Baumgartner is full professor for Technology Enhanced Learning and Multimedia and Head of the Department for Interactive Media and Educational Technology at Danube University Krems. His main research interests and publications lay in the fields of learning theory, eLearning scenarios and blended learning arrangements, distance education, didactics and teacher training, strategies for the organizational implementation of eLearning and evaluation methodology.

 

Christina B. Class, German-Jordanian University, Amman, Jordan

Class Christina B. Class studied Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and made her PhD in the Computer Engineering and Networks Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. From 1999 to 2008 she was professor for computer science at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland. In 2008 she joined the computer science department at German-Jordanian University in Amman, Jordan, and was appointed department head in September 2008. Christina B. Class has a post diploma degree in computer science didactics and was actively involved in teacher education in Switzerland. She has been teaching computer ethics since 2001 and is an active member of the special interest group "Informatics and Ethics" of the Gesellschaft fuer Informatik e.V., Germany.


Nikolaus Forgó, University of Hannover

Forgo Nikolaus Forgo was born in Vienna in 1968. He studied law and philosophy in Vienna and Paris and wrote his dissertation in legal theory. From 1990-2000 he was Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna, in 1998 he founded a postgraduate program in IT-law (www.informationsrecht.at) and served as the law school's IT-commissioner from 1996-2000. Since 2000 he is full professor of law in Hannover, since 2007 head of the Institute for legal informatics (www.iri.uni-hannover.de), a research unit with more than 40 staff-members, and assignee for the postgraduate program in legal informatics (www.eulisp.de).
He does teaching, research and consulting in all areas of IT-law, in private
law, legal theory and legal history both on national and international
level in Austria and Germany.


Wolf Hilzensauer, Salzburg Research, Austria

Wolf Hilzensauer  Wolf Hilzensauer works as a researcher and project manager in the field of technology enhanced learning. His focus is in ICT supported innovative educational processes, and multimedia, with a primary focus on vocational training in SMEs and eLearning frameworks in higher education.

 

Klaus Himpsl, Danube Univeristy Krems, Austria

Himpsl Klaus Himpsl has been a member of academic staff at the Department for Interactive Media and Educational Technology, Danube University Krems (Austria), since April 2007.
He is in charge of postgraduate course of studies "eEducation", serves as a lecturer in several courses, especially courses about educational technologies and E-Learning scenarios, develops blended learning arrangements and is involved in E-Portfolio implementation and research.


Marcel Kirchner, Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany

M_Kirchner Marcel Kirchner is a PhD student at the Technical University of Ilmenau in Thuringia / Germany and research assistant at the department of communication science. He is engaged in the implementation of Social Software in educational context, especially in school and university teachings (E-Learning 2.0). Foremost he is interested in competent presenting in the internet and supporting learning activities by using E-Portfolios to establish contacts, network and finally apply succesfully. He is one of the main organisators of the first EduCamps in Germany: http://educamp.mixxt.de.


Serge Ravet, Chief Executive of the European Institute for E-Learning (EIfEL), France

Serge Ravet Serge Ravet is Chief Executive of EIfEL, a non-profit European professional association whose mission is to advise and research on projects using digital technologies to support the learning and development of individuals, organisations and territories. Serge is particularly active on issues such as informal and organisational learning, recognition and accreditation of competencies and experience, ePortfolio and personal learning environments, digital identity and interoperability.


Brigitte Römmer-Nossek, University of Vienna, Austria

  At the University of Vienna Centre for Teaching and Learning Brigitte Römmer-Nossek is responsible for the development of study programmes. She was responsible for the first implementation of ePortfolio and is developing ePortfolio didactics together with Birgit Peterson. She has studied Brain and Cognitive Sciences, worked on conceptualisation and interaction design of online-games (private sector) and social software (research). She coordinated curriculum development and is teaching in MEi:CogSci, a joint degree master programme in cognitive sciences at Vienna University.

 

Sandra Schaffert, Salzburg Research, Austria

Sandra Schaffert  Sandra Schaffert co-ordinates the application area "Education and Media". In the focus of the application area stand Web-based educational innovations: On the one hand, it is necessary to develop new didactical concepts for the usage of technological innovations. On the other hand, educational technologies have to be developed and adapted to the concrete requirements of the educational practice.

 

Friedrich Scheuermann, Center for Research on Lifelong Learning, Italy

Scheuermann Friedrich Scheuermann is working for the Centre for Research on Lifelong Learning (CRELL) of the European Commission - Joint Research Centre, IPSC, in Ispra, Italy.  Emphasis of his work is linked to technology enhanced learning and assessment, evaluation research and educational innovation. His current projects are about computer-based assessment methodologies and the assessment of ICT impact in education. Silvia Sippel, University of Augsburg, Germany

Sippel Silvia Sippel achieved her master degree in Media and Communication Studies at the University of Augsburg in autumn 2008. Since 2009 she is a member of academic staff at the Institute for Media and Educational Technology of the University of Augsburg. She develops an E-Learning course on qualitative research methods for the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern (vhb). Her research interests lay in the field of (e-)assessment, feedback and competence-oriented learning in higher education.


Thomas Sporer, University of Augsburg, Germany

Thomas Sporer

Thomas Sporer graduated from the University of Regensburg in Information Science, Pedagogy as well as in Media and Communication Studies. He is currently working at the Institute for Media and Educational Technology and the IT-Service Centre of the University of Augsburg. He manages the development of the study programme “Problem-Solving Competencies”. In this context he is pursuing a PhD degree and is teaching courses on knowledge management, organizational learning and emerging technologies.


Marij Veugelers, SURF NL Portfolio and University of Amsterdam, Netherlands

Marij Veugelers Marij Veugelers is Projectmanager Portfolio Implementation for the IT in Education Department at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (since 2000) and responsible for educational implementation at the UvA.
Since September 2004 she is also communitymanager of the Dutch Special
Interest Group NL Portfolio of the SURF-Foundation for the Higher

Elisabeth Zimmermann, University of Vienna, Austria

  Elisabeth Zimmermann studied Human Biology and Anthropology. She is managing coordinator of the MEi:CogSci joint degree study programme and teaching at the University of Vienna’s Department of Philosophy.
